When the Stars Shine Again by Lucy Peterson

I heard When the Stars Shine Again was a Christian allegory and I immediately jumped on it. As a writer of Christian allegorical fantasy, I loved seeing the elements and how the author carefully crafted a beautiful reflection of the gospel.

Story: 5/5

Worldview: 5/5

Our main characters, Wren and Zandier, deal with hopeless, feeling unworthy and unwanted. Wren has been banished from her family because she is marked by shadows. I loved seeing her interact with the “Jesus” character and come to grips with what it means to be saved and free. I definitely teared up at the end.

The worldview is spot on here. Even though there were no scriptures, this novella was steeped in truth. One section did make it sound like Wren was going to be a future leader of the church, but that was left up in the air, so it was fine.

All in all, a great allegorical fantasy. I will definitely be picking up another book from Lucy again! Note: I received this book for free from the author.
