To each book, I’ll give two separate ratings: Story and Worldview.
Story ratings are from 1 to 5, with 5 being a captivating, timeless read, a 4 being captivating and engaging, and 3 being a solid novel (with a few issues regarding plot and character). I will probably not be reading books that rank at 1 or 2.
In terms of Worldview, a 5 would be content that is specifically Christian or or biblical. 4 would be a novel that is not very obviously Christian but still has good morals or values. A 3 would be more of a neutral stance, with good morals even if it does have some snags that counter Christianity. A rating of 2 would be that the book may be Christian but has some really weird flaws.
If I read something that’s not Christian at all, it will be marked as N/A and it will not be factored into the score (this would be for something secular but still good, like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins). If something is clearly demonic, I will not read it or review it.
This will be combined into an overall rating between 1 and 5.
Beliefs
In essence, I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. My personal conviction is to honor Him in what I do in day-to-day life. Though I may read books with good characters or messages, the ultimate authority is the Word of God, the Bible, and from there I draw my conclusions on what I consume.
